It is the aim of the festival to give youngsters the opportunity to show what they can do and to encourage them to continue participating in making music. We also hope that the event will inspire other youngsters to get involved.
We want those taking part to have an experience that will live with them forever.

Over the last 10 years there has been a steady decline in the number of suitable venues at which young people can perform. The Rock and Pop Festival was created to give up-and-coming talent a venue which is safe, secure and provides professional expertise and equipment.

To top it off we have discovered an added bonus, friends and family watching the show are often motivated to take up playing. This years audience will become next years performers!

The event is a celebration of live performance.

The organisers provide a non-competetive environment, so students are encouraged to support other bands and each other. All performers are able to watch any of the other nights for free.
During the course of the event we offer free tuition and advice to those who are inspired to take up a musical instrument.
Workshops on the benefits of learning to play a musical instrument are available. These workshops are supported by the music industry.

Each year we provide students with a number of unique opportunities with the provision of work placements

These placements are in sound, lighting, video  engineering, stage management and rigging.
They are  provided by world renowned companies who are leaders in their field.

These opportunities not only provide valuable insight and experience in the music industry but could also lead to very real careers.
